A workflow-driven interface that guides you through the analysis
When working with REDFIN you will not be confronted with the feature and menu jungle that makes working with new software so difficult. Instead, the sleek and intelligent design ensures that on every page of the workflow you will only be shown the buttons and information that you need at that point in time. The workflow-driven interface expertly guides you through the analysis, so that even a novice user is up and running fast without spending hours studying a manual. Reduce the time you normally have to spend on 2D gel image analysis by being expertly guided through an optimized analysis workflow. Feel confident that you are performing all the necessary steps required for a high quality image analysis. |
Compatible with all types of stainingThe REDFIN software supports any type of staining including DIGE and protein specific stains. Have the ability to analyze all your 2D gel experiments within one easy software without paying extra. |
Automatic image quality control to help you optimize your scanning proceduresYour 2D gel images are automatically assessed for image quality to make sure they are optimal for image analysis. By checking potential problem areas such as bit depth, DPI, saturated areas, and size you will be provided with all the feedback you need in order to optimize image capture.
|
Integrated image editorIn case your 2D gel images are not all in the same orientation you can easily correct any positional errors introduced during scanning using the image editor. Flip or rotate your images without interrupting the analysis workflow.
|
Create multiple groups and comparisonsIn REDFIN you are not limited to grouping your gels according to one factor only, but can create as many groups and comparisons as you wish. That way you can easily group your gels according to different characteristics such as control vs. treated, male vs. female, or different time points. By creating multiple groups and comparisons you are able to explore various differential expression patterns at the review stage and thereby dig deeper into your data.
|
Global and local spot editingGlobal spot editing During the REDFIN Solo analysis workflow all editing is done on a single image and the generated information transferred back onto the individual images of the experiment. This approach dramatically reduces the time needed for spot editing, whilst at the same time improving data consistency. Local spot editing In addition to the ability to globally edit spots, REDFIN provides the tools to also edit spots in individual gels for complete control over your data. These easy-to-use tools can be used in a targeted way to fine-tune the data and optimize data quality. To help you get started we've created a whole bunch of video tutorials of how editing is done in REDFIN.
|
Easily exclude individual gels without having to re-do the entire analysisAt the end of an analysis you might realize that the quality of one or more of the gels has not been sufficient to enable satisfactory spot detection and/or matching. REDFIN allows you to simply exclude such gels before proceeding to the results module, without having to re-do the entire analysis. This not only saves you time but also means you don't have to purchase analysis credits for these gels.
|
Basic and advanced statisticsUnivariate Statistics The analysis results are automatically sorted according to the ANOVA p-value, to help you quickly find interesting protein expression differences. In addition, various filters allow you to narrow down your results according to your personal criteria.
Expression profile filtering The Expression Profile Filter in REDFIN allows you to search for proteins that are being up- or down-regulated in a certain way. This feature is especially useful when working with time-course experiments and proteins following specific expression trends are sought after.
Principal Component Analysis (PCA) Principal Component Analysis is an unsupervised multivariate statistical method and it is very useful for spotting underlying trends in your data, as well as a data quality control. Use it to check if all your gels are indeed grouping according to their biological classes or if there are any outliers in your data. PCA is included for free in the REDFIN software. |
Easy export to PDF, Excel and spot pickersClick on one of the icons to export your list of results to pdf, excel or to a format suitable for spot picking.
Export your data as a PDF report Export your data to Excel for further manipulation Export a pick list as an image for manual picking or generate a pick file for spot excision robots. Currently REDFIN supports the Ettan and EXQuest spot picking robots. as well as providing generic picking files. |
Easily extend existing projects with new gel imagesSometimes it is necessary to run additional samples after the initial analysis. The REDFIN extend functionality supports this workflow by allowing you to add 2D gel images to an already analyzed project. All you have to do is to click the "Extend" button under project actions and let yourself be guided through the extension workflow.
|
Add and a warp pick gels for freePick gels can be added and warped to the project as many times as you want, for free. A pick export wizard guides you through picking from a new gel. You will be asked to select the image from you hard drive, warp it to the existing gels and then export a pick list for the spots you want.

Invite your colleagues to view your results for easy collaborationLudesi REDFIN is the first and only 2D gel software to allow interactive "sharing". This means that you can share your experiments with co-workers anywhere in the world by the click of a button. Click on the image below to see how it works. Some points on sharing Ludesi REDFIN users can easily share their Ludesi analyzed experiments and collaborate on them with colleagues worldwide, for free. Experiments can easily be shared or un-shared by clicking on a button. Email Invitations for Sharing: All sharing actions, such as sharing an experiment with someone, or removing a share, are accompanied by a confirmation email. Researchers can give “read-only” or “read/write” access to sharing recipients. Sharing recipients do not have to be Ludesi customers, as they can download and use the Ludesi REDFIN Software at no charge. |
Automatic data backup every 30 seconds so you never lose any workEver forgot to press save and then the application crashed? With REDFIN you no longer have to worry about losing your work. REDFIN automatically saves and backs up your data whilst you work, thereby ensuring that your results are safe no matter what happens. It makes it one less thing to worry about... Know that your work is safe. REDFIN continually backs up your data, so that you no longer have to worry about what would happen if your computer would crash for good... |
Access your data anywhere you have an internet connection for total flexibilityThe times when you had to access your data on one specific computer are over. The unique architecture of REDFIN allows you to view and work with your data on any computer that has internet access. All you need to do is download REDFIN and log in to your personal and secure account. This gives you the ability to work with your data from home, whilst you're traveling, or from a colleagues computer in a different lab. |
The ability to request an analysis service if you get short on timeWhen you are tight on time or simply prefer the different analysis approach offered in the Ludesi Basic and Pro analysis services, you can hit the "service" button in REDFIN. Receive quality controlled data whilst maximizing your time for your research.
When the analysis is complete, the image analysis data is uploaded directly into your personal REDFIN account, where you work with your results as usual using the various exploratory tools in the REDFIN software. So instead of receiving boring paper reports you can dive into your data as usual and maintain full control over your results. Some of the benefits you will enjoy with the Ludesi image analysis service include: Win back the time you used to spend on 2D gel image analysis. Depending on if you choose a Basic or Pro service we will do all or part of the work for you. Increase the number of interesting protein expression changes you find in your data. The Combined Correctness metrics employed in a Ludesi Pro analysis can dramatically improve your data quality and thereby your discovery potential. Get better data from samples with high biological variability. The analysis workflow employed in a Basic or Pro service spot detects in individual images instead of a fusion image, resulting in more accurate data from your 2D gels. |
Flexible payment methods and no software license costsSoftware licences can be very expensive and if you don't run a high number of gels a year the investment is hard to justify. That is why REDFIN has no software licence cost and simply lets you pay per gel - with no restrictions on which features or modules you can use. Not only does this flat rate ensure that you can taylor the costs to your needs specifically, but it also gives you access to all the features and modules of the REDFIN software. You no longer have to pay extra for DIGE projects or statistics modules. And to provide you with the ultimate user-friendliness, REDFIN Solo operates on a pay-only-if-you're-happy concept, meaning that you only have to pay for image analysis data you think is good enough. Some of the benefits you will enjoy with the pay-per-gel system include: Remove the risk of investing in an expensive software licence by simply paying per gel, as you go. Get better value for money from your image analysis solution, especially if you are running less than 200 gels per year. Know that you can access all features and modules, such as DIGE analysis, Principal Component Analysis, Expression Profile Analysis, and Sharing at no extra cost Save money by only paying for analysis results you can use; the pay-only-if-you're-happy concept means that you can simply discard unuseable data without paying |
