Customer Profile: Dr. Bianca Elena Maserti
Dr. Bianca Elena Maserti is a Senior Scientist at the National Research Council, Department Earth & Environment, Institute of Biophysics (CNR-IBF) in Pisa, Italy. She is part of the research group on Tolerance to environmental stress in marine and terrestrial phanerogams. Dr. Maserti is using proteomics to study crop plants, with a special focus on citrus and wheat crops.
Read below for Dr. Maserti's answers to our seven customer profile questions:
How would you describe the overall goal of your research?
To find the molecular traits involved in the response/ tolerance of crop plants to environmental constraints such as drought, soil salinity, pests
What is your goal specifically for your 2D gel based research?
To identify differentially or de novo expressed proteins
What type of samples are you primarily working with?
Leaf, root, and fruit juice samples from crop plants
What have you achieved by using 2D gels?
We identified several proteins involved in the response of citrus leaf to a pest attack, and in another experiment to soil salinity . Papers have been submitted.
What type of Ludesi analysis do you primarily use (REDFIN Solo, Basic, or Pro)?
Ludesi Basic and REDFIN Solo
What made you choose Ludesi's analysis service?
I was looking for a 2D service on the web. Ludesi offered the service at a competitive price.
How does using the analysis service help you in your work?
The computerized analysis of gel images is compulsory for 2DE research, so we needed to find a good solution for our lab. The Ludesi analysis service works well for us and allows us to save time.
