Cost for extending projects

Concerns Ludesi Pro and Basic customers only.

If you would like to send in additional analytical gels and add them to an existing project, you need to be aware of the project extension costs. Extending projects with preparative gels (pick gels) is free of charge and can easily be done within the REDFIN software.

How much does it cost?

The cost is calcuated as follows:

Cost of analyzing the additional gel(s) + 10% of the total project cost (but minimum 10 credits)

Example:

If you have previously sent in 10 gels for analysis using Ludesi Pro, and you would like to extend the project with an additional set of 10 gels the cost for analyzing the new gels plus extension will be:

10 * 10 credits + 10% of 200 credits = 120 credits

or in monetary value:

$ 3000 + $ 600 = $ 3600

Why this additional cost?

Extending existing projects with new gels requires more work than simply analyzing the new gels. In addition to updating the database and files, all the match vectors of the old project need to be extended to the new gels, and for Ludesi Pro analyses this also means that the new matches need to be quality checked. To cover these overhead costs, we need to add an extension charge.

How can I avoid this charge?

If possible, you can keep costs down by planning ahead and sending in all gels at once. Especially if it is not urgent to get preliminary results, it is a good idea to wait a few more weeks and upload everything as one project.
