Matching

Spot matching determines which spots in the different gel images correspond to the same protein.  

All-to-All Matching

Instead of matching the spots to a chosen reference gel, Ludesi uses All-to-All matching where every gel is matched to all other gels. Because of the All-to-All matching, the bias inherent in using a single gel image as a reference gel is avoided. Also, since matching information is merged from all combinations of images, the matching tends to be more robust.
