Ludesi Hires Application Specialists from Bio-Rad, GE Healthcare & Nonlinear Dynamics
Lund, Sweden – November 12, 2007 – Ludesi AB, developer and provider of the world’s leading 2D Gel Image Analysis Service, today announced that it has hired three new application specialists, Krisztina Halasz, Anna Kapferer, and Helena Lexander, to work closely with its existing customers and to meet the growing global demand for its service. Prior to joining Ludesi, the three new application specialists held key positions at Bio-RAD, GE Healthcare, and Nonlinear Dynamics, all firms actively involved in proteomics and 2D gel electrophoresis software.

Ludesi’s New Application Specialists & Background
Krisztina Halasz: From 2004 till joining Ludesi, Dr. Halasz served as Account Manager and Product Specialist at Bio-Rad Laboratories where she was responsible for strategic sales and marketing of approximately 4000 laboratory products to more than 200 accounts. She obtained a PhD in Medical Science from the Faculty of Medicine at Lund University and has over ten years of research experience giving her a broad technology background in proteomics technologies including electrophoresis, chromatography and mass spectrometry. Dr Halasz has contributed to several scientific publications in the fields of connective tissue biology, rheumatology and atherosclerosis.
Anna Kapferer: Before starting at Ludesi, Ms. Kapferer held the position of R&D Engineer at Nonlinear Dynamics, a software company specializing in 2D Gel Image Analysis Software, where she researched, designed and evaluated their new software technologies and participated in algorithm development. Her responsibilities also included sales and customer support, and presenting new technologies to customers. Before that Ms. Kapferer worked as part of the Proteomics Team at Pfizer in the UK, where she gained extensive hands-on experience in proteomics lab work. Her research there focused on biomarker discovery for drug efficacy testing. She holds a MSc. Degree in Bioinformatics from the University of Leeds.
Helena Lexander: Dr. Lexander came to Ludesi after working for GE Healthcare as a proteomics scientist with focus on two-dimensional gel electrophoresis, and prior to that worked at Oxford Genome Sciences as a Proteome Collaborations Manager. She obtained a PhD in Cancer Proteomics from prestigious Karolinska Institute in Sweden. Her doctoral research focused on using two-dimensional gel electrophoresis to study the protein expression of benign and malignant prostate tissue. She has a broad knowledge in oncology and proteomic technologies and solid hands-on experience with 2D gels and 2D gel image analysis.
