Staying cutting-edge: The Ludesi blog gets updated (and better looking)
I liked our old blog. I really did.
It’s like that old pair of jeans that you know aren’t the most flattering any more but that you feel strangely attached to…
When we started the Ludesi Blog back in January 2009 (I believe) it was an exciting and interesting experiment. We used the free wordpress.com blogging platform and just started posting about what we feel passionate about: 2D gel image analysis and gel-based proteomics.
Since then the Ludesi blog has become very popular and with a steady stream of readers visiting every day we have started to feel a little self-conscious about, well, the appearance of our little blog… Let’s face it, the design and functionality didn’t really do it justice.
Fixing this problem was surprisingly easy.
We moved from the wordpress hosted blogging platform over to the self-hosted version, which allows you infinite freedom in design and probably anything else you can think of.
In addition, we were able to migrate from the more cumbersome www.ludesi.wordpress.com URL over to a beautifully simple www.ludesi.com/blog URL.
So in line with our outstanding 2D gel image analysis software REDFIN and our rather cool corporate website, the Ludesi Blog is now also a fine specimen of beautiful design and great functionality.
It’s magazine-style layout presents you with one or two currently featured article, as well as a choice of six popular posts in the header alone. Underneath you will find the usual list of periodically ordered posts, as well as several other neat little features in the side bar. (I do especially like the “Randomizer” that presents you with a random post every time you click on it…).
All in all, a blog that is nicer on the eyes and better equipped functionality wise.
We hope you approve.
