Adding new gels to an already analyzed project
Posted by ludesi in New features in REDFIN
Ever started a new project by running a smaller trial with the intention of adding more samples if the results look promising?
For a 2D gel based experiment this means first analyzing a smaller set of gels to get a feeling for the results and then extending this existing analysis with the new gel images. It is important that your 2D gel image analysis software supports this workflow, to prevent you having to re-analyze the entire set of gels again.
Here is how you extend an already analyzed project with new gels in REDFIN:
1. Open your REDFIN start page
2. Click on the Extend button next to the project you wish to extend

3. Select “Extend this experiment” and name your extended project
4. Follow the wizard!
For your convenience, REDFIN will keep your previous analysis as a separate project in case you want to go back and compare what the results looked like before adding more gels.
